Signe Office Project
Digital Solutions Accelerate the Construction of the Signe Office Project
12.12.2025
Jatke Toimitilat Oy is constructing Signe, a new modern office building in the heart of Helsinki, Finland. The project’s nature — a logistically challenging city-centre location combined with strict sustainability requirements — places significant demands on project information management.
To meet these needs, the project team selected a comprehensive digital ecosystem built around SokoPro, one of Finland’s leading common data environment (CDE) solutions, complemented by an integration with Vektor.io. Together, these tools provide a centralised environment for managing project documents, plans and model-based data.
The Signe building on Mannerheimintie was selected as the winner of Rakennuslehti’s Construction Site of the Year competition in Finland.
The jury praised, among other things, the extensive use of digital tools, a strong digital project overview and data-driven decision-making.
Rakennuslehti’s Site of the Year is an annual competition organised by Rakennuslehti, Finland’s leading construction industry newspaper. The award recognises an outstanding construction site that demonstrates excellence in project management, safety, collaboration, innovation, and overall execution, based on real-world performance on site.
Centralised Information Management
“The city-centre location made the project logistically challenging. The project began with demolition work and continued with construction in a busy urban environment, so information had to be managed and shared reliably. We are building premium-level office and retail space, which in itself adds complexity to the work,” says Niklas Huitti, Project Manager at Jatke.
The solution for managing the project’s complex information flows was a centralised CDE solution. The objective was to ensure that all material — from tender documents and contracts to BIM models — is stored and accessed in one place.
“Having all information available in a single CDE significantly speeds up project start-up and ensures that all parties, from the client to site management, are working with up-to-date information,” Huitti adds.
A Digital Ecosystem Supporting Daily Site Operations
In the Signe project, the CDE is not an isolated tool but part of a broader digital ecosystem. Through the Vektor.io integration, BIM models can be visualised together with point clouds and PDF drawings, ensuring that site teams always have access to the latest plans. This integrated approach supports daily site operations and improves efficiency.
“The Vektor.io integration is extremely important for us. When designers upload material to the CDE, it becomes immediately available in Vektor.io. The measurement tools and model-based quantity features are essential for our work. The integration is user-friendly and improves overall quality,” says Huitti.
The project has also provided valuable feedback for further developing Vektor.io’s capabilities for building construction use cases.
“Working with Jatke’s experienced professionals on the Signe project has given us an excellent opportunity to further develop Vektor.io for building projects as well. It has been great to hear from site supervisors that, for example, producing 2D cross-sections directly from BIM models has significantly sped up workflows, as there is no longer a need to request separate drawings from designers,” says Eero Lyytikäinen, Sales Director at Vektor.io.
A Comprehensive Digital Approach Delivers Tangible Benefits
The use of a comprehensive digital ecosystem in the Signe project demonstrates how integrated digital solutions can support even highly demanding construction projects. Reliable integrations and always up-to-date plans ensure that decisions on site are based on accurate information throughout all project phases.
In Signe, the combined use of digital tools has supported the project from planning through execution, improving both design coordination and day-to-day site operations.
