The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and Vektorio Oy Sign Agreement for BIM Tool Software Service in Transport Projects

22.12.2022

The BIM tool is designed to enhance collaboration between the parties producing infrastructure models and their clients. This improvement aims to enable better planning and implementation solutions as well as their coordination. The tool will be integrated into the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s (FTIA) information management processes and other systems utilizing infrastructure models.

“In the future, information generated from projects will be standardized. By standardizing both the production and reception of information, we can make operations more unified. Through consistent and clear practices, we will drive the growth of infrastructure model usage, which we see as directly correlating with the quality of produced models and other data, as well as the productivity of the industry.” – Tarmo Savolainen, Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency.

“This is a significant agreement for us and a testament to how systematic product development over the years has yielded results for the Vektor.io software service, which supports the management of the entire lifecycle of infrastructure. We thank the FTIA for their trust and their highly professional procurement process. This provides a great foundation for continuing to develop both our software and the entire infrastructure sector together.” – Juha Vesanen, Vektorio Oy.

“The implementation of FTIA’s BIM tool will begin in the spring with internal training sessions, using the Luumäki-Imatra railway project shown in the image as an example. Our goal moving forward is to ensure that every project incorporates Vektorio.” – Jenna Ikonen, Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency.
